HOW TO GET THERE

Ariège is easily accessible by plane, train or car. Once there, a car is essential to fully explore the region, as public transport is very limited.

From Toulouse

Approximately 120 km — about 1h30 by car.

• Take the southern ring road towards Tarbes (exit 25). • Stay on the A64 motorway for about 60 km until exit 20. • Follow direction Saint-Girons (28 km). Be attentive: this road crosses several small villages with speed controls.

In Saint-Girons, follow signs to Guzet Station – Seix – Oust. In Oust, take direction Ercé (24 km).

At the entrance of Ercé, you will see a small grocery store on your right. 100 m later, turn left towards Hameau de Cominac up to the church.

Drive uphill for about 1 km. After two hairpin bends, you will see two large garbage containers. Take the road opposite, slightly right, marked gîte rural.

Follow this track for 800 m: at the first large bend, the access to La Cachette des Grenouilles and La Pitchounette is on the right.

You will see a gate with two black pivoting bars (to prevent animals from passing). Drive slowly, gently push the bars with your car, then continue to the parking area.

⚠️ Note: the “shortest route” suggested by some GPS devices may use very narrow mountain roads. We recommend following the main route described above.
